Chakresh Kumar Jain, Associate Professor (Specialization: Bioinformatics), joined the Department of Biotechnology in July 2003. He has over two decades of teaching and research experience at reputed institutions, including the Bioinformatics Centre, Jawaharlal Nehru University; Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi; and Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Noida.
He holds master’s degrees in applied Biochemistry (Jiwaji University, Gwalior), Computer Applications (IGNOU, New Delhi), and Information Sciences (INSDOC, New Delhi), along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics. He completed ALCCS (equivalent to MTech in Computer Science) from the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi, and earned a Ph.D. (Specialization: Bioinformatics) from Jiwaji University, focusing on computational design of non-coding RNAs using machine learning methods.
Dr. Jain is CSIR-UGC-NET (LS) qualified, a member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), and a life member of IETE, New Delhi. He has delivered lectures and presented research at numerous national and international conferences.
He has several publications of international and national repute and has filed one Indian patent. He has also supervised two awarded Ph.D. scholars and guided numerous B. Tech and MTech/ MSc students in Bioinformatics domain.
His research focuses on cancer genomics, mental and neurological disorders, exploring biomarker identification non-coding RNAs and therapeutic strategies using machine learning, data analytics, and network biology.
Dr. Jain’s work integrates computational biology, systems-level analysis, and AI-driven methods to address pressing challenges in biomedical research and drug discovery.
