Journalism & Mass Communication

The Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (BAJMC) at JIIT is a four-year undergraduate program designed to build a strong academic and professional foundation in media and communication. Structured over eight semesters, with an exit option after three years, the program offers a dynamic combination of theoretical knowledge and practical training, preparing students for a wide range of roles in the contemporary media landscape.

At its core, the program emphasizes ethical journalism, truth, objectivity, and social responsibility — values essential for today’s media professionals. Students are trained to produce accurate, creative, and engaging content across traditional and digital platforms, including print, television, radio, and online media. The curriculum is specifically designed to keep pace with the convergence of media, technology, and audience interaction, enabling students to stay ahead in the digital-first communication age.

Through a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on training, students gain proficiency in reporting, writing, video production, editing, anchoring, and multimedia storytelling. They also explore critical areas such as media ethics, global communication trends, media laws, and the role of journalism in shaping public opinion and policy in a democratic society.
