Research Highlights

My research centers on gender studies, identity politics, and contemporary Indian literature, with a specialized focus on transgender narratives. Her doctoral work, From Personal to Political: A Deep Insight into the Selected Autobiographies of Indian Transgenders, provides a critical examination of lived experiences, marginalization, and the sociopolitical dimensions of transgender identities in India. Through a close analysis of autobiographical writing, her research foregrounds voices traditionally excluded from mainstream literary discourse, exploring how personal stories challenge established norms and contribute to broader conversations on rights, representation, and inclusivity.

Her academic contributions extend through numerous publications in Scopus-indexed and UGC-classified journals, where she examines themes such as unemployment among transgenders within India’s social policy framework, trauma and marginalization in contemporary Indian novels, and the portrayal of transgender characters in works by authors like Jeet Thayil, Anosh Irani, and A. Revathi. These studies highlight systemic challenges faced by transgender individuals, including ostracization, identity suppression, and socio-economic vulnerability.

Dr. Chaudhary’s research is marked by a commitment to amplifying marginalized voices and promoting intersectional understanding within literature. Her work not only enriches literary scholarship but also contributes meaningfully to ongoing discussions on equality, representation, and human rights in the Indian socio-cultural landscape.
