Biography

Dr. Sandeep Mishra is currently working as Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in Department of Physics and Material Science & Engineering at JIIT, Noida since September 2022. Prior to that, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in an Indo-US Project in collaboration with University of Nebraska, Omaha in which he dealt with designing the protocols of secure quantum electronic voting systems. He completed his PhD in the broad area of quantum information and quantum computation under the supervision of Prof. Anu Venugopalan from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. He also completed his MTech. in Engineering Physics from GGSIPU. Prior to that, he completed his M.Sc. and B.Sc. from University of Delhi. He is currently working in the designing and security analysis of a set of new schemes for secure quantum communication for various applications such as unconditionally secure communication, quantum voting, e-commerce, auction and secure multiparty computation.

Research Highlights

Dr. Sandeep Mishra has an experience of more than 12 years in the area of quantum computation and quantum information. He works mainly in designing and security analysis of quantum cryptographic solutions for unconditionally secure communications. He has also worked for development of device-independent generation of quantum random numbers. Currently, he has developed interest in use of quantum walks to develop quantum algorithms for computationally hard problems. He has till date completed (as Co-PI) two externally funded projects from Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Currently, two students are pursuing PhD under his supervision.
