Dr. Shalini Mani is Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, India. She has total 22 years of research and 15 years of teaching experience. She completed her PhD from Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, where she worked on detailed analysis of clinical biochemical and genetic analysis of Leigh syndrome patients and found an interesting genotype-phenotype correlation of mitochondrial and nuclear gene mutations in these patients. She also found an interesting thiamine deficiency in these patients, which was otherwise declared to be irradiated from India.
She did her post-doctorate from Murdoch Children Research Institute, Melbourne Australia. During her post doctorate, she has been awarded with one of the prestigious awards of Endeavor Research fellowship, Australia. During her post-doc, Dr Mani studied the therapeutic efficiency of nicotinamide-riboside in cardiomyopathy using Ndufs4 and Ndufs6 Complex I deficient mice model.
Dr. Mani has actively engaged in several national and international conferences, showcasing her research across India and overseas. Her academic portfolio is notable, encompassing 60 publications in international journals, 32 book chapters, and three authored books. She also exhibits a strong dedication to innovation, evidenced by a filed and published patent.
Dr Mani is also a recipient of outstanding award for “Women in Oncology Research” in 2021 by Indian Pharmacopeia Commission, India.
