
Dr. Shalu is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Grade-1) in the Department of Physics and Materials Science at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida. She earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Physics from the University of Delhi, followed by a Ph.D. in Physics from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 2017. During her Ph.D, Dr. Shalu was awarded the CSIR-Senior Research Fellowship in 2015 at Banaras Hindu University.
Dr. Shalu pursued two prestigious postdoctoral fellowships: the D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Delhi, and the National Postdoctoral Fellowship at the CSIR–National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. Her postdoctoral and doctoral research primarily focused on the development and optimization of novel electrolyte materials and electrode systems aimed at enhancing the performance and efficiency of rechargeable batteries.
In addition to her research credentials, Dr. Shalu has over two years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at Sharda University.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Shalu has made significant contributions to the field of energy storage, particularly in the areas of battery design, materials characterization, electrochemical analysis, and performance optimization. She has authored over 27 research articles, most of which are published in Q1-ranked international journals, and contributed to 3 book chapters in reputed scientific volumes. Her work has garnered an h-index of 19 and over 1,500 citations, reflecting her growing impact in the field of rechargeable battery research.
