Biography

Dr. Adhirath Mandal is a dedicated and result-driven mechanical engineering professional with over 8+ years of academic and research experience, specializing in internal combustion engines, renewable energy, and robotics, particularly upper limb exoskeletons. With a robust background in project management, product design, and team leadership, he has contributed significantly to both teaching and cutting-edge research.

Dr. Mandal earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Kongju National University, South Korea, where his research focused on the combustion and emission characteristics of soybean biofuel in diesel engines. He also has more than 1 year of Post-Doctoral research experience. he has worked in the field of Upper limb Exoskeleton and ergonomics . His extensive academic journey includes a Master’s degree in Production Engineering from Delhi Technological University (formerly Delhi College of Engineering) and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical & Automation Engineering from prestigious Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

Currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Dr. Mandal teaches robotics, AI, and engineering drawing to undergraduate and postgraduate students, while actively pursuing research in biofuels and robotic ergonomics. His prior roles include teaching positions at Graphic Era University and Kongju National University, and postdoctoral research focusing on alternative fuels and robotic systems.

Dr. Mandal has been the coordinator for international collaborative projects between South Korea and Bangladesh, aimed at enhancing mechanical engineering education and automotive training. He has published numerous research articles in reputed SCI/SCIE and Scopus indexed journals and presented at several international conferences, contributing to advancements in biodiesel applications, vehicle emissions, and robotic assistive technologies.

In addition to his technical expertise, Dr. Mandal is skilled in CAD tools and simulation software, reflecting a well-rounded personality with a passion for innovation and education.

Dr. Adhirath Mandal is an accomplished researcher with over 8 years of focused experience in sustainable energy and robotics. His primary research areas include internal combustion (IC) engines, renewable biofuels, and upper limb exoskeleton robotics. His Ph.D. work involved the experimental investigation of soybean biofuel combustion and emission characteristics in diesel engines, contributing significantly to the understanding of alternative fuel viability and environmental impact.

Post-Ph.D., Dr. Mandal has extensively studied biodiesel derived from waste cooking oil, evaluating its performance and emissions in compression ignition engines. His research addresses critical challenges in fuel efficiency, emission reduction, and engine durability, offering practical solutions for cleaner and sustainable transportation. He has published multiple high-impact papers in reputable SCI and SCOPUS indexed journals, covering topics such as the environmental effects of biofuels, combustion optimization, and emissions control.

In robotics, Dr. Mandal has advanced the design and ergonomics of upper limb exoskeletons, focusing on center of mass stabilization and muscle activity reduction through innovative reaction wheel systems. His work bridges biomechanics and control systems, enhancing wearable robotic assistive devices.

Dr. Mandal has also played a pivotal role in international collaborative projects, particularly between South Korea and Bangladesh, aimed at developing customized education programs and advancing automotive and mechanical engineering training.

His multidisciplinary approach combines mechanical engineering principles with emerging technologies, contributing valuable insights to both academic and applied research communities focused on sustainability, energy efficiency, and human-robot interaction.
