Biography

Dr. Ram Surat Chauhan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, India. He received his PhD degree from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, IIT (BHU), Varanasi, India in 2021. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Ayodhya in 2015. He has more than 2 years of teaching and research experience. His research areas of interest include numerical optimization, optimization under uncertainty, and interval analysis. He has published 7 SCI research papers in reputed journals. Dr. Chauhan is an active peer reviewer for several reputed journals, including Elsevier and Springer, ensuring high-quality scholarly standards in the field of mathematical sciences.

Research Highlights

His ongoing research is to investigate mathematically and numerically a large-scale interval or stochastic optimization problem concerned with uncertainty quantification and their applications in machine learning problems and the optimal control of a control problem in a noisy environment that occurs due to incomplete information (e.g., demand for the product) or unpredictable changes (e.g., changes in the climate) in the system. He also working on the derivation of the concepts of sub derivatives and a technique to solve IOP with non-differentiable objective function. His previous research is based on generalization of derivatives (Directional derivative, Gateaux derivative, and Frechet derivative) for interval-valued functions and their applications in optimization problems with interval-valued objective functions.

Areas Of Interest
  • Numerical optimization
  • Optimization under uncertainty
  • Interval analysis.
