Biography

Dr. Sumit Mahajan earned his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur in 2021. He completed his M.E. from Thapar University, Patiala, in 2011, and his B.Tech. from Government Engineering College, Gurdaspur, Punjab, in 2009. Over the years, he has served as an Assistant Professor at several esteemed institutions, including Lovely Professional University, Gautam Buddha University, IIMT Group of Colleges (Greater Noida), and Noida International University. In August 2024, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Design at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida.

Research Highlights

Dr. Sumit Mahajan is an active researcher with expertise in dissimilar metal welding, hot corrosion, welding consumable development, and FRP nanocomposites. He has published numerous research articles in reputed national and international journals, including those from Elsevier, Springer, and Taylor & Francis. In addition to his journal contributions, he has presented his work at various national and international conferences and seminars.

In recognition of his research contributions, he received the Best Poster Presentation Award at Industry Day 2020 held at IIT Jodhpur. He was also awarded the MHRD Fellowship in 2015 to pursue his doctoral studies at IIT Jodhpur.

Currently, he is supervising two full-time Ph.D. scholars and has successfully guided nine M.Tech. theses. His research impact is reflected in his citation metrics, with an H-index of 10 and an i10-index of 10.
