Biography

Dr. Thakur completed his B.E. from Nagpur University, M. Tech. from BIT Mesra Ranchi, and Ph. D. from JIIT Noida. As an academician he started his career in 2001. Since then, he is involved in teaching subjects at under graduate and post-graduate levels. These subjects include Data Structures, Multi-Dimensional Data Structures, Algorithms, Graph Algorithms, Multimedia Computing, Parallel Computing, etc. During his teaching career of more than 21 years, he supervised around 200 under graduate and post-graduate student’s projects/thesis. Also, under his guidance, 2 students successfully completed their Ph. D. and 1 student is pursuing the Ph. D.

Apart from academics, he has been actively involved in organizing international conferences (viz. Publication Co-chair, International Conference on Contemporary Computing),and annual technical festival at JIIT (Cyber Srishti).Asfaculty advisor of KNUTH Programming Hub at JIIT, he organized and conducted numerous programming workshops and programming competitions on different competitive programming portals. Under his mentorship, many students secured good ranks in national and international level coding competitions, like ACM ICPC and many studentsproject proposals have been shortlisted for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) under his mentorship. Also, under his supervision, 4 groups (6 students in a group) in 2019 and 3 groups in 2022 won the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH) for different problem statements.
