Biography

Dr. R.K. Dwivedi has joined the Department of Physics and Materials Science & Engineering, JIIT Noida in 2005 as a senior lecturer and now working as a professor in the Department of Physics and Materials Science & Engineering at JIIT. Prior to joining JIIT, Dr. Dwivedi taught in an Engineering College affiliated to AKTU, Uttar Pradesh. He did M.Sc. in Physics from CSJM University Kanpur followed by M. Tech. in Materials Technology in 1994 and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology in 1999 from IIT BHU. Dr. Dwivedi did post-doc from IIT Bombay in the field of rare earth based manganites for magnetic sensors. His current research interest is to investigate novel materials having Perovskite structures for energy storage, Ferroelectric and Piezoelectric materials, MEMS and photocatalytic applications. Dr. Dwivedi has nearly 25 years of teaching and research experience at undergraduate and post graduate levels. He has completed several research projects sponsored from AICTE, DST, DRDO and MIETY as a principal Investigators/Co-Investigators. He has supervised seven PhD thesis, more than a dozen M. Tech. and M.Sc. dissertations/projects and several major projects of B.Tech. students. He has published more than 90 research papers in the Journals of international repute and international conferences.

Research Highlights

Dr. Dwivedi has been working in the field of synthesis and characterization of novel advanced materials for energy storages, multiferroic applications, piezoelectric energy harvesting devices and photocatalysts for waste water remediation. Thus, indigenously developed materials have been taken for structural, electrical and micro-structural characterizations and the results are published in the form of research papers in the journals of international repute and granted a few patents as well.

  • Investigated solid solution formation in the BiFeO3 – (PbZr)TiO3 materials system with optimized current density for x = 0.70 and phase change correlation with polarization
  • Developed lead free best ferroelectric and piezoelectric material based on BCT modified (BiNa)TiO3 ceramics in the morphotropic region of structural co-existence of R+T phases.
  • Developed NaNbO3 based photocatalysts for dye degradation of methylene blue from waste water
  • La and Fe modified NaNbO3 materials with superior photocatalytic performance and awarded patent recently.
  • A patent on “A Cavity based Multi Resonant Piezoelectric Energy Harvester with One Straight and Two L-shaped Branches” has been awarded recently.
