Biography

Prof. Shweta Srivastava is a Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (FIETE), a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE), and currently serves as the Director at the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida.

She successfully completed the Senior Executive Leadership Program in Organizational Leadership from Harvard Business School Executive Education in September 2025.

Prof. Srivastava earned her Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, India, in 2002. Since then, she has been actively involved in research and development in diverse areas including microstrip antennas, active and smart antennas, millimeter-wave antennas, reconfigurable antennas, beam-forming antennas, on-chip antennas, microwave integrated circuits, and active/passive substrate integrated waveguides (SIW).

She has authored and co-authored over 100 research papers in national and international journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions, contributed to book chapters, and filed patents. Under her supervision, 14 Ph.D. scholars have successfully completed their degrees, with 3 more currently pursuing their research. She is also a reviewer for several reputed national and international journals, including IEEE Transactions, IEEE Wireless Propagation Letters, and Wireless Personal Communications.

Prof. Srivastava has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including: • Women in Tech Award (2025) • IETE–Lal C. Verman Award (2023) for outstanding contributions to standardization, quality control, and precision measurements • IETE Smt. Ranjana Pal Memorial Award (2016) for significant contributions to RF and Microwave Engineering • Outstanding Woman in Engineering Award (2018) by the Centre for Advanced Research, Venus Foundation

She is a member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Committee on Security, Defense, and Disaster Management, and also serves on the National Frequency Allocation Committee of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India.

Prof. Srivastava’s leadership, research excellence, and sustained contributions have significantly advanced the field of RF and Microwave Engineering, bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Research Highlights

I am a teacher and a researcher at core. I have been working on antennas and microwaves for past 25 years. I have a deep interest in this area. My research interest includes frequency agile microstrip antennas, active antennas, microwave integrated circuits, smart antennas, millimeter wave communication, metamaterials, antenna arrays etc. My recent research is based on Substrate Integrated Waveguides (SIW) and Folded SIW. I have published more than 100 research papers in reputed journals and conferences. 14 research scholars have completed their PhD under my guidance and several are ongoing.
